01 / Challenge

The challenge

Client websites, web applications and APIs each come with their own weak spots, from injection flaws and loose access controls to misconfigured servers and outdated dependencies. Each issue had to be found, understood and properly fixed, not just flagged in a scan report.

02 / Approach

Our approach

We started by testing client sites and applications to see where they were exposed, then worked through the fixes in order of risk. That meant hardening the application code, authentication and APIs, tightening server and browser-level protections, and improving the sites along the way. Client work was carried out under a non-disclosure agreement, so specifics stay private.

03 / Delivery

What we did

Technology / services

Security testingSecure developmentWeb server hardeningSocial media content
  1. 01Security testing of client websites, web applications and APIs
  2. 02Fixes for common OWASP Top 10 issues, including SQL injection, XSS and CSRF, backed by input validation and safe error handling
  3. 03Stronger authentication: secure password hashing, rate limiting and lockouts, safer password resets and secure session cookies
  4. 04Access control checks to stop users reaching data or actions they shouldn’t (IDOR and privilege escalation)
  5. 05API hardening: authentication, request validation, rate limiting, CORS configuration and limiting data exposure
  6. 06HTTPS/TLS, HSTS, Content Security Policy and other security headers, plus hiding server details and exposed admin pages
  7. 07Dependency and configuration reviews to catch outdated libraries, known vulnerabilities and leaked credentials
  8. 08Wider improvements to client websites alongside the security work
  9. 09Social media posts for Warrior Networks’ own channels

04 / Outcome

Outcome

Client sites and applications that were tested, hardened and improved, with fixes made in the code and configuration rather than left in a report, plus consistent social content for the company. The owner, Wasim Khan, recommended Waleed “without reservation as a true professional.”
